What is a "Shipping Method Instance"? - Booster for WooCommerce

Under the Shipping & Orders category, there are several modules that ask if I want to use Shipping Methods Instances instead of Shipping Methods. I have searched all through the documentation, FAQs, and the boosterio.bigscoots-staging.com website and cannot find any references to “Shipping Instances”. I have no clue whether I should enable it or not and what happens if I do! How is a Shipping Method Instance different from a Shipping Method?
